Good Men

We had our 2nd Elevation ManUp breakfast this morning. It was great. God is really bringing some great men to Elevation. They are smart, godly, loyal, generous, hard working, and sold out to the vision of Elevation.

It’s so great to lead a church where the men support, believe in and love (not in a touchy feely way, in a slap you on the back real hard 3 times when you hug just so you know it’s platonic kind of way) their pastor.

Why didn’t I do it sooner, Part 2

When I originally thought about this rhetorical question, I figured it could apply to any step of obedience. And I guess it could. Whenever God tells you to do something, you should do it immediately. If you don’t, you’ll suffer. Maybe the effects won’t show up right away. But it won’t end well.

SCENARIO #1
If God tells you to break up with the person you’re dating, you should do it immediately. If you don’t, the relationship will get worse and worse. So will the condition of your soul. And if/when you come around and obey God (end the relationship), you’ll see his purpose revealed in time. (Not always right away. Be patient.) When it’s all said and done and the raw emotion goes away, you’ll wonder: “Why did I waste all that time being miserable and thinking I was smarter than God? Why didn’t I do it sooner?” Read more

Why didn’t I do it sooner?

I am going to preach on this question someday soon, no doubt. When I do, everybody will go, “Yeah, that’s right. I wish I would have done it sooner.” And hopefully some people will go ahead and do it Enough time wasted, enough excuses.

After you do it, it’s over. And you feel much better about yourself. Usually there’s a payoff. If nothing else, you don’t have to spend the rest of your life wondering what difference it would have made. I think I’ll tell you what it is tomorrow.

And you’ll wish I would have done it sooner.

I think there’s something wrong with me

Aren’t preachers supposed to dread preaching about money? I am actually extra excited!

Not just because the tithes and offerings are going to go through the roof to allow Elevation to keep doing big time ministry.

But because I can’t wait to see us all get set free!

You aren’t going to sit through this series on money and yawn or feel guilty. Everyone who attends and engages with this stuff is going to a new level of freedom and blessing.

Have you heard about the Freak Show? It starts this Sunday. If you’re sitting on the front row, bring goggles. Not really. Well, maybe.
