Full contact pastor

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

I never knew being a pastor was a full contact sport before Sunday.
Baptizing over 200 people left my lower back and right bicep way more sore than any wrestling match or weightlifting program I’ve ever been a part of.
I’m still feeling it.
I love it.
A couple of times a year I do a devotion for 300 [...]

Plunge

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

This morning at our Central campus we spontaneously baptized 209 adults in our 3 worship experiences.
It was amazing, and I am exhausted.

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

Dozens of people will receive Christ as Savior this week at our Union campus, and tons of others will have one of the 3 top experiences of their lives at Central.
Go to the [...]

What you’re doing matters a lot

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Here’s a word to all of you who are currently doing the will of God the best you know how, but still feel:
Stuck
Small
Out of place
Under the radar
Insignificant
Underappreciated
Unlikely
Awkward
and Uncertain…
God has not forgotten you, and what you’re doing matters. A lot.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t converse with someone who feels their [...]

A copy of a copy of a copy

One of the greatest lessons I ever learned about casting vision goes all the way back to 17 years ago, when I used to dub tapes.
For all of our valued high school and middle school audience members, audio recordings used to exist in the form of a device called the cassette tape.
I know that you [...]
