Recently I asked our staff to give me 3 words to describe the last year at Elevation Church.
Hands down, the most frequently recurring word was intense.
I like that. I think ministry should be intense. Ultra intense. The death of Jesus was intense. His resurrection was intense. The reality of an eternal hell is intense. So [...]
Jesus took a poll one time. It wasn’t a political poll, because He didn’t (and still doesn’t) need votes. It wasn’t a popularity poll, because He wasn’t (and isn’t) interested in being cool.
It was more of a perception poll:
He asked his inner circle of leaders:
“Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

… God told me at age 16 that I would start a church in a major city somewhere in the U.S. one day:
