Spontaneous Baptisms

I’ve been asked before if there are any “secrets” to success that I’ve discovered as a pastor.
I used to roll my eyes: “What a silly question… ”
But it turns out, there is one. It’s something I’ve been doing for a while now, and it’s become so routine to me that I never even thought to mention it.

You see, every weekday morning, I have a scheduled meeting with at least 5 pastors of growing, effective churches. I start each day by hearing their ideas about leadership, discipleship, staffing, etc.
These guys are located in different cities all over America, and we’re all pretty busy, which would normally make getting together daily very difficult, if not impossible. But we’ve found a way to make it happen.
We have even found a way around getting on airplanes and having to spend the night away from home.
And some of us have never even met each other.

We do it by reading each other’s blogs.

Seriously, have you considered how amazing it is that we live in this age?
Have you thanked God for the wealth of insight and information at your fingertips?
This generation of pastors and leaders has a learning advantage that the generations before us would have killed for.
Can you imagine if Joshua would have been able to check Moses’ blog every morning?
Or if Timothy had been able to read Paul’s advice via RSS feed? (I have no idea if I used that term correctly. I think I did.)

The point is, pastors used to have to spend thousands of dollars and travel thousands of miles to network and glean wisdom at conferences. This generation of spiritual leaders simply logs on, and in a matter of minutes, you can say you’ve met with and learned from some of the most strategic thinkers in the body of Christ.

Are you taking full advantage of this all access pass?
