Guest Blog: Chunks Corbett, Executive Pastor

Whether you blame it on the gas crunch or maybe the economy, the bottom line is the airport just ain’t what it used to be.
A few of our lead team are out in Oklahoma City with Pastor hanging with the guys at LifeChurch.tv, and on the flight out we were able to squeeze a 6 hour trip into 11 hours.
Was it the gas? Maybe. The economy? Could be. I’ll tell you what I think it is… laziness and apathy. We watched the baggage crew meander their way into showing up 15 minutes late to slothfully load our bags as we waited to taxi down the runway. The result was a missed connection by minutes.
The airline industry is the only business in the world that can give crap for service and not be held accountable. The days of writing letters to the corporate office and getting free vouchers are over.

So what did we do with a 6 hour layover in Memphis? Well, Pastor called a staff meeting and we sat at the Interstate Bar-B-Q and battled the issues we’re facing like it was a Staff Advance (we don’t retreat).
In conclusion, here are takeaways: the airline on this particular day was less than stellar (SUTB) and its great to have a leader like Pastor who seizes every opportunity, even a layover in Memphis, to advance the church.
