It seems like the tide is turning. No doubt, there’s still a lot of territorialism and greed in the body of Christ… we’ve got a long way to go.
But when I see initiatives like this and this , I’d say things are looking up.
Elevation is doing our dead level best to give away anything we can that will help others make Kingdom impact. I’d like to say we’re generous, but we really don’t have a choice in the matter. Jesus told us to.
Plus, why in the world wouldn’t we want to get in on the spiritual blessings and rewards of investing into the ministries of others? It’s just plain smart.
Multiple church planters call our offices every single day needing help with practical solutions and structural dilemmas.
About 8 months ago, I told our Executive Pastor Chunks Corbett that it was time to get more strategic about helping other ministries.
Chunks’ spiritual gift is making sense of and giving structure to the vague and ill-defined ideas I have.
So he created this and this.
Elevation: I want you to know that you’re having an impact far beyond the 2 high school auditoriums that we occupy each Sunday. Take some time today and pray for these other ministries that we strategically support. Almost every week there are multiple church planters visiting our services. They come from all over the country to glean from what God is doing through you guys in our city. Over 10,000 unique visitors (well over 10,000) access our blogs each month, and almost that many access our sermons as well. Your sacrifice and service are being felt all over the world. Glory to God.
Church leaders: Are you doing all you can do to freely give? It’s one thing to say: “We’ll help anybody who asks.” It’s another thing to make the first move and create solutions for those who don’t even know the questions to ask. To invest the time and resource into developing structures to make sure generosity happens, regularly, effectively, and proactively.
What idea, product, tool, advice, or resource could you share with the body of Christ that would advance the Gospel of the Kingdom methodically, consistently, and strategically?
Everybody can start somewhere. If you have 100 people coming weekly, can’t you advise the guys who minister to 50?
Don’t wait until you have more than enough to share what you have.
Give sacrificially.
Don’t wait until you’ve got it figured out to share what you’re learning.
Learn out loud.
Get your fish and loaves in the hands of Jesus and watch Him multiply your offering.
