Thoughts from Pastor Steven

… God told me at age 16 that I would start a church in a major city somewhere in the U.S. one day:
He had to get to me while I was young, and too stupid to know any better.
He had to put this vision in my heart while I was just a Junior in High School, or else time would have talked me out of it.

Life has the potential to drown out your dreams. And as I study Scripture, I see God speaking to lots of the heroes at a young age (David, Joseph, Samuel, Jeremiah, Timothy… ) about what He wanted to accomplish through their lives.

It makes sense. God has to get to you when you’re young, long before you learn to factor God out of the equation. Long before all the mediocre people teach you what can’t be done. Long before you figure out that we’re not really supposed to believe that nothing is impossible with God.

Today, I celebrate all the Elevators who work in E-Kidz, Spin, and Pulse to sow seeds of greatness inside of the children and students of Elevation.
Maybe if God can get to ‘em early, they won’t know any better than to suppose that He can do amazing things through their lives.
