I want to establish a universal and permanent preface for everyone who ever asks me about our philosophies and strategies at Elevation. Or anyone who ever reads my thoughts on this blog, for that matter, which obviously includes you.
Whenever I’m talking about leadership, preaching, worship, or anything that isn’t absolutely and thoroughly defined in the Bible, I’m giving you one opinion. Mine. That’s all.
I’m saying: This is how we do it. Not this is how you should do it too.

I talk to church leaders all the time whose views on ecclesiology come off as almost papal. I’m sick of it.

God does not bless one style, one model, one program, one methodology…
He blesses one message: His Gospel.
In a variety of styles, models, and formats.

I know that I am one of the more opinionated pastors in the blogosphere.
I know sometimes it sounds as if I think our way is the only way.
But here’s the distinction: just because I really believe in the way we do it
doesn’t mean I discredit the way you do it.

And of course I’m passionate about the way God has called me to do ministry, and the approaches that God has chosen to bless at Elevation.
Who would want to follow a leader who wasn’t?
However, I’m very excited about the things you’re doing that He is blessing too, even if they look foreign to me.

What say we leave it at that?
