Our staff sets really crappy goals.
Sorry to use the word crappy, it’s a crappy word to use on a high class blog like this one.
But it’s the only adjective that works.
When we were dreaming up the biggest goals we could set for our second year of ministry (which began in February 2007), this was the best we could do:
1. One time attendance of 2000 people in worship by August 26
(We had 2052 on Easter)
2. 214 salvation decisions within the year
(In the first 3 months we’ve recorded 377)
3. 144 baptisms within the year
(As of yesterday, we have baptized 388! Again, within 3 months)
God has always been better to us than we’ve been able to anticipate.
The Bible teaches this, why can’t we just believe it?
Father, I praise you for dwarfing our miniscule guesses about what You’re going to do.
Help us to set bigger and better goals to reflect our bigger and better God…
Bigger than our imaginations… .
And better than we could ever be to ourselves.
Amen!
