Thoughts from Pastor Steven

Lesson #3-Protect Your Pastor!

This is the single most important lesson that I have learned from my travels with Pastor Furtick over the years.

I can hear some of you asking…
“What do you mean protect your Pastor and what does that look like?”
“Do I need to dress like a secret service agent, and strap myself with enough firepower to level a small building just incase a little something starts to go down?”

The answer is… possibly… but probably not.

Here are a few examples of what protecting my Pastor looks like to me.
I make sure that we get to an event on time (even if it means he gets to shower and I don’t. Hey… its part of the sacrifice!)
I work with event planners to ensure that Pastor understands the flow of the event and his mic is in his hands and working correctly.
I see to it that he is comfortable, and full of all the diet carbonated beverage he would need to preach at his full potential.

You see, when I am on the road with Pastor, I truly desire to see the gospel unleashed through his message. And I have found that the best part I can play in that process is to make sure that I take ownership of all the details so that he can focus on what only he can do.

P.S. This principle isn’t just at work when we’re on the road… I work to make it a foundational aspect of our everyday relationship.

Now… who’s got your Pastor’s back? You I hope!
