The following is a quick Monday hit just to go public with some of the things I’m grateful for.
• I’m grateful for our beautiful healthy baby boy. Graham’s delivery was somewhat complicated, and slightly traumatic, but he’s okay. God taught me some things through the experience, and I dang sure appreciate his life.
• I’m grateful that baby Graham has a chill personality. The nurses kept saying what a good baby he was. No one ever said that about Elijah. Instead they said: “Wow, he’s got a great set of lungs.”
• I’m grateful that Elijah, our two year old, seems to like Graham pretty good. He is willing to hold him for up to 90 seconds at a time and sing to him. But then he’s off, like a tornado. A literal tornado. I’m grateful for my little tornado too.
• I’m grateful for my wife. She’s a hero. So are all of you other women who have had babies. I’m also grateful to be XY, so I never have to do that.
• I’m grateful for the Elevation staff. I am going to take it easy this week, slipping in and out of the office randomly, and taking Elijah on adventures and watching Graham sleep, because that’s about all he does.
I have no doubt that they’ll put lots of points on the board while I’m away. In fact, they love it when I’m not in the office. They’d never admit this, but it’s the only time when they can get anything done without me adding more stuff to do before they can do the last thing I said. I’m on to you, guys…
• I’m grateful for 5 excellent worship experiences at Elevation yesterday… and I’m grateful for our highest offering ever! I’m not grateful for that because we need it (we’re doing just fine), I’m grateful because obviously generosity is rising up in a major way. That’s good stuff.
• I’m grateful that I finally found a minute to blog. It’s been a whirlwind this week. Bear with me. Something profound will be coming your way very soon…
