I’m inspired by an idea in this book that our Directional Staff is reading right now, and I’m going to host a stevenfurtick.com experiment.

I have the basic sketch of our Christmas sermon series already planned out, but we’re toying with the idea of changing the entire direction and starting all over.
And as I sat down to brainstorm a few new fresh ideas this afternoon, I decided not to brainstorm alone. That’s where you come in.

If you have an idea for a Christmas sermon series that you believe is fresh and unique, and you would like to see your idea brought to life in a high impact, full scale 3 week Christmas series at Elevation Church… .
send it in before midnight on Wednesday, October 16.

We’ll filter your ideas through our creative team, see if any of them ring our bell, and if so, we’ll take your idea public.

A few stipulations and guidelines:

-Please only submit your original series ideas.
(Don’t submit the idea that your church or another church is using this Christmas or used in a previous Christmas.)
-You must be willing to allow Elevation Church and any other church who so desires to use the series free of charge, designing it and modifying it specific to the needs of the church.
-You can send us as little or as much detailed concept about the series as you wish. In other words, it can be as minimal as a series title and main concept, or as involved as a series title and sermon titles with Scriptures… whatever. (However, I wouldn’t go much further than that. We don’t need to see a series graphic or video elements… we’ll create those later. We’re simply looking for fresh and compelling angles on the Christmas message.)
-We won’t be able to personally respond to everyone. Thanks for understanding.

I’ll announce the winner and post all of the best ideas here after we’ve filtered and compiled them, so that other churches can benefit.
Even if we end up going with the current sermon series I’ve planned out, I thought it would be a lot of fun to collaborate like this.
By the way, this “contest” is open to everybody… the best idea might come from a high school senior, stay at home mom, Youth Pastor, or CFO… .who knows? Everybody play along.

There is no grand prize, other than seeing your concept brought to life this Christmas to impact thousands of lives our city and beyond. Not bad.
