… You’ll be judged on what you were called to do.
I heard a preacher say this recently, and it blessed me.
It’s a comforting reality.
If I believe this, it squashes my need to compare myself to others.
I won’t be judged according to Pastor Rick’s ability to lead or Bishop Jakes’ ability to speak.
Thank God.
I’d flunk.
It’s also a pretty challenging reality. Even if other pastors and church growth analysts think I’m knocking it out of the park, God’s the ultimate umpire. So if I grow a church to 10,000, and God intended for me to exercise the faith and pioneer the systems that would reach 50,000, I’ve missed the mark.
I won’t be judged on my results, but on my capacity, and my faithfulness to fulfill the divine assignment God has purposed just for me.
