Someone shared a sobering reality with me recently:
There is very little that we do in the Spirit
that we cannot fake in the flesh.
Boom. Ouch. And Yikes.
The more proficient we become in ministry, the stronger the tendency becomes to manipulate the mechanics of ministry rather than flowing in a fresh wave of God’s power.
I refuse to fake it in the flesh.
I never want to substitute:
-Hype in the place of momentum
-Gimmicks in the place of innovation
I never want to sacrifice:
-Long-term fruit on the altar of short-term results
-What God desires on the altar of what might work
God, keep us close to the Source of our strength.
Help us to never manufacture in the flesh
what should only be accomplished in the power of your Spirit.
