And Final… for now
Hope you’ve enjoyed these, and haven’t taken them too personally.
Here’s one more. The line was sent to me by my good friend, Dr. J.D. Greear.
I may pick this series up in the future. If you liked it, let us know!
What people say
“I’ve got a real check in my spirit about this.”
When people say it
When the church makes a decision they disagree with, but there’s no Biblical basis for saying it’s a wrong decision.
What that usually means
I personally don’t like this decision the church is making. But rather than say it like that, voice my opinion where appropriate, and then shut my mouth and support the overall vision of the church, I’m going to blame my opinion on God. That way, you can’t argue with it, because I cloaked my personal opinion in spiritual terminology! See how that works? I made it sound like God told me this decision was bad. Since I can’t point out how this decision is bad from a Biblical perspective, I’ll make it subjective: I have a check in my spirit. It’s all about me!
Now my personal preference is on the same level as God’s will!
Note:
If you have a check in your spirit about this blog entry, don’t bother emailing us about it.
We won’t have a check in our spirit about deleting it!
I promise to post nicer, happier thoughts next week!
Thanks for letting me rant!
See you Sunday Elevation!
