I love saying that phrase. It always makes me giggle.
Ok, so Christmas was phenomenal all the way around this year.
I love my family. The whole lot of ‘em. We had my family and Holly’s family in and out all weekend, and I loved every minute of it.
Now the house is trashed like a high school football stadium’s visitor bleachers. But it’s a good kind of dirty.
Elijah has more toys than Operation Christmas Child headquarters.
His favorite, I think, is the keyboard I picked out. He’s such a rock star.
Do you ever feel so full of gratitude for the things God has given you and done for you that your heart is overwhelmed to the point that it hurts physically?
I felt that way several times this weekend as I watched my son run around, trying to decide who to hit on the head with his Oscar the Grouch hammer next.
Or as I watched the Elevation volunteer staff cheerfully tear down the atrium last night after our most exhilarating services yet, rejoicing in the 22 people who crossed over from death to life during this series.
Or as I hung out with our parents and our siblings these last few days and thought about how I genuinely didn’t want them to leave. They’re the best.
Or now as I’m hanging out with my hot wife, planning to go see Rocky Balboa, the 9:45 showing tonight, since her parents took the boy for the next 2 days.
Boo ya! (Did I even spell that right? What does it even mean?)
I love my life! I love my wife’s butter injected turkey, my mom’s awesome stuffing, and Deborah’s red velvet peanut butter Butterfinger cake. I love my new wardrobe compliments of everyone, my back massager, my iPod hook up thingy for my car, and the picture of Jesus my mom framed for me that my grandfather had in his office for several decades.
I love watching Damion, Chunks, and Larry freak out about how cool the snow machine is going to look during Angels We Have Heard on High and watching our band rock Coldplay and hearing about how over the top Reese looked as Santa riding around on a Harley all over the parking lot.
I love Christmas!
