Thoughts from Pastor Steven

I know I posted a series of kind of cynical, grumpy, feisty entries this week about what it takes to be a church planter. A lot of you are new to this blog, and you might get the impression that I’m sort of a negative, condescending dude who thinks he’s got it figured out.
(No, we didn’t get a bunch of negative feedback. I just know that sometimes it can be hard to discern the tone of written communication.)

This isn’t my heart. I love Jesus, and I love His church. I honor all of you pastors and aspiring pastors who feel called by God to lead His church. If you came to visit Elevation, I would roll out the red carpet for you. I would hug you and pray with you and bless you in the name of the Lord.

So anyway, I wanted to write a super positive shiny happy post today.
After all, it is the countdown to Christmas! And Santa’s on his way.

Well, today was another very special day at Elevation.
We had an unseasonably packed house (watch out for falling pipe and drape right side!)
And the energy was off the charts, I thought.
God had a Word for us today, and we received it.

By the way, holy cow, that O Holy Night arrangement was freaking fantastic. Our band rocks!

Also, praise God that no babies melted down during the baby dedication. Even my kid was pretty good. There’s a MIRACLE for ya!

Elevation, don’t forget to get those Christmas cards in the mail inviting your peeps to church next Sunday.

I think it’s going to be the best Christmas in the history of Elevation.
It will also be the first.

I heard a rumor that there might be snow…

Hmmm…
