Thoughts from Pastor Steven

We had a good meeting this morning with a couple staff members.

3 things struck me about our staff:

1. We are all so different-in every possible way. But we genuinely love each other. We like each other too. (There is a difference, you know.) You don’t have to be alike to get along. You don’t have to be alike to be super productive. Our differences make life fun and help us color outside the lines. Speaking of fun…

2. We really have a blast together. One of our staff members (I won’t mention your name Chunks) said something really dumb this morning, and we wrote the sentence on the board and made fun of it the rest of the day. This is the kind of stuff you remember long after the decisions are made. And it’s the kind of stuff that makes it worth getting out of bed on a Saturday morning.
What was the dumb statement? You’ll never know :)

3. Our staff isn’t scared of work or change. This attitude makes all the difference. I think a lot of times the church fails to innovate because we’re lazy and scared. Fortunately, laziness and resistance to new ideas aren’t the order of the day at Elevation.

I love our church staff, paid and volunteer. You’re an unbelievable group of folks.

Tomorrow’s going to be killer! It’s time for my weekly Saturday night haircut.
