I’m still a rookie pastor. And we’re still in the honeymoon stage at Elevation. Maybe that’s why every time we’re getting ready to start a new series I feel like we’re relaunching the church. I get really giddy and hyper and nervous and expectant. I can’t wait to see what God does through this new series.

A few other items that make this a great Saturday:

1. Chunks and a team of really smart people held a financial seminar this morning to wrap up our Freakonomics series. It was awesome. I’m so proud to be part of a church that tells people to get their financial lives in order and then shows them how to do it. Great job ya’ll! We have lots of people signed up for financial counseling and we’ll be launching 2 new financial small groups. Couples are budgeting like crazy at Elevation, and it makes me happy.

2. The Clemson/Virginia Tech massacre wasn’t today. Better to get it out of the way early in the week.

3. We’re bringing in this guy to do some consulting tomorrow. I know he’ll have tons of good ideas and I can’t wait to let the discussions begin. We’ll spend all day tomorrow talking production, and I can’t get enough of that stuff.

4. I’m about to take Elijah and Holly out to eat in a restaurant with a lot of TVs that will all have college football on them. Hallelujah. Go Gators. Go Vols.

5. We’ve got an incredible 5 weeks lined up, bigger than anything we’ve ever done before. And lots of doors are involved.
