Well, I guess every pastor who is in his right mind is spending a lot of his energy this week finding multiple ways to motivate his church: “Invite your friends and family to church this Sunday.”
I certainly am. And I make no apologies for it.
I think I freaked the staff out when I emerged from my office Monday around 4:45 and pulled half of them in a room and just started preaching my sermon to them. Loudly. Waving my arms and telling them “This is going to be HUGE!”
I was just excited.
I am excited. To the point of explosion.
See, this is like Super Bowl Sunday.
Somebody’s uncle Tom who hasn’t been to church in 3 years will agree to come, just this once, this Sunday.
Somebody’s brother who’s used drugs off and on for a long time and says he isn’t sure he believes in God will come this Sunday. He’ll show up late, but he’ll be there.
Someone else’s neighbor has told them no every single time they’ve ever said “Hey, you should come check out my church.”
And this Sunday, they’ll say yes. Finally.
So yeah, I’m dang excited.
We’re bringing our A-game.
This is big time.
Again, Elevators, I’m telling you… tis the season to go ballistic inviting people to church.
Cause this year, on the night before Christmas, when our two services are over (not to mention the thousands upon thousands of other services all over the world) we’ll lay our heads down and know that eternities and destinies were changed and we were in on the process. Wow.
Hurry up Christmas Eve and get here! We’re ready!
